Southside sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 77-74 victory over Dallas County. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Southside also won the last time the pair played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Dallas County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joshua Davis III . Despite the final result, he went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 6 assists. Davis III scored a full 45.9% of Dallas County's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Carter, who scored 15 points.
Southside's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Dallas County, the last time they won on the road was back last Friday. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 1-4.
Southside will take on Keith at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keith is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Dallas County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Marion at 7:00 p.m.
