On Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Word of Life Christian Academy had to settle for a 43-40 loss against the Diamondback. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Word of Life Christian Academy has suffered against the Diamondback since February 6, 2018.
Meanwhile, Sandy Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 55-44 to Pahranagat Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sandy Valley has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Sandy Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Damion Turner, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher LeClair, who scored 12 points.
Word of Life Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Sandy Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.
