Copley is a perfect 6-0 against Cuyahoga Falls since September of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Black Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Cuyahoga Falls took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Copley, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, Copley made easy work of Roosevelt and carried off a 49-26 victory. With the Indians ahead 35-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Bryce Martin was his usual excellent self, rushing for 272 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 41 receiving yards and one touchdown. Andrew McKnight also helped out with an impressive 101 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Copley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 386 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Copley's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Justin Chatmon and Lucas Tielsch, who racked up four sacks between them. Copley is undefeated when Chatmon posts one or more sacks, but 1-2 otherwise. Hendrix Sickels was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles.
Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against Aurora, falling 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Black Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 618th, while the Greenmen are ranked 223rd).
The win made it two in a row for Copley and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points over those games. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Everything came up roses for Copley against Cuyahoga Falls in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 62-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
