Curwensville is 9-1 against Purchase Line since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Golden Tide will face off against the Red Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Curwensville will be strutting in after a victory while Purchase Line will be coming in after a loss.
Curwensville took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Juniata Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Tide came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hornets on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Golden Tide as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Addison Siple spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Natalie Wischuck, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ava Olosky was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Meanwhile, Purchase Line was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of River Valley.
Rylee Adams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Purchase Line's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Curwensville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Curwensville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Purchase Line struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Curwensville's way against Purchase Line in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Curwensville made off with a 12-0 victory. Do the Golden Tide have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
