Central has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Glen Ridge Ridgers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Central has not done well against Cedar Grove recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Central was the clear victor by a 56-36 margin over Cedar Grove. That looming 56-36 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Central yet this season.
It was another big night for Faith Fedd-Robinson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Central's points. Jahniyah Simpson was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Glen Ridge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took down Nutley 50-33.
Central's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Glen Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Everything came up roses for Central against Glen Ridge in their previous matchup back in February as the squad secured a 53-25 win. Does Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glen Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
