AAAA Region 7A recap Oct. 3, 2012
Cass moved up to 80 from 140 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAA Region 7A. The Colonels climbed the ranks as a result of a 35-7 win over Dalton.
Gilmer led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on LaFayette.
Pickens' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tanner Brumby has thrown for 378 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Jake Coleman has seven catches for 159 yards. Brumby also leads the league in rushing with 257 yards.
A big matchup in AAAA Region 7A this week will be when Cass takes on Pickens. The Colonels are currently in third, while the Dragons are in fourth.
Cass made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,943 from 3,770. The advance stemmed from a 35-7 victory over the Catamounts last week.
