Softball Recap: Ballantyne Ridge Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Mecklenburg, Ballantyne Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the North Mecklenburg Vikings as Ballantyne Ridge made off with a 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Dhaitha Dasari, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyse Ficker, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Ballantyne Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ballantyne Ridge's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for North Mecklenburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Ballantyne Ridge will welcome East Mecklenburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Mecklenburg, they will venture away from home to square off against Chambers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chambers has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.29 runs per game on average), something North Mecklenburg will no doubt try to take advantage of.
