West Cabarrus is 7-0 against the Wonders since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The West Cabarrus Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the A.L. Brown Wonders at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, West Cabarrus lost to the Wildcats on the road by a decisive 82-66 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Cabarrus in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, A.L. Brown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 72-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cox Mill. While losing is never fun, A.L. Brown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Chargers are ranked 90th).
West Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for A.L. Brown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for West Cabarrus against the Wonders when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 75-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Cabarrus since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
