The Central Catholic Raiders will take on the Vista del Lago Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Central Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Johnson get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. Considering the Raiders have won 19 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Stephanie Garcia looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Central Catholic let Madie Harrison and Samantha Nichols run wild. Harrison went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Nichols went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmarie Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Central Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .654. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Vista del Lago, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Dixon 11-9.
Alayna Piexoto tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, Lauren Aubrey and Jillian McGuire did most of the damage at the plate: Aubrey went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while McGuire went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Aubrey has posted since back in March of 2024. Ella Dossey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Central Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Vista del Lago, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Vista del Lago's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Central Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. It's a different story for Vista del Lago, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Central Catholic's hitters?
Central Catholic couldn't quite finish off Vista del Lago in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 and fell 7-5. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
