Softball Game Preview: Autauga Academy Generals vs. Alabama Christian Academy Eagles

The Autauga Academy Generals are taking a road trip to face off against the Alabama Christian Academy Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alabama Christian Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Autauga Academy, who comes in off a win.

Autauga Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Verbena as Autauga Academy made off with an 11-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Generals considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Jacaiya Perry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Destinee Carroll was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Teonna Davis, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Alabama Christian Academy entered their matchup against Handley on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Alabama Christian Academy fell just short of Handley by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Alabama Christian Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Hammett, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases.

Autauga Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. Alabama Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
