Baseball Recap: Canton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Canton had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Housatonic-Lakeview Mountaineers on Monday. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Tyler Rottkamp looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on James Canny, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Nadeau, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Canton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Canton's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Housatonic-Lakeview, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton will face off against East Granby at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Housatonic-Lakeview, they will square off against Thomaston at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
