Golda Och Academy kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Yavneh Academy by a score of 44-42.
Yavneh Academy was led to victory by Joe Schwartz and Darren Sacher. Schwartz scored 10 points, while Sacher dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Sacher is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Max Fisherov was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Golda Och Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Yavneh Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Golda Och Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cedar Grove at 4:00 p.m. on December 14th. Yavneh Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Beth Tfiloh at 4:00 p.m. on November 30th.
