Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Nampa's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Nampa's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Emmett Huskies by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Huskies on April 4th, they had to take a 16-7 defeat.

Jaxon Wade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Nampa is 5-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bradley Norman, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Nampa has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Emmett, their record is now 4-15.

Looking ahead, Nampa will take on Caldwell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Emmett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
