The Clymer Central Pirates suffered their closest loss yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Ellicottville by a score of 35-33. Clymer Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ellicottville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Clymer Central's loss came despite strong showings from Jonathan Massing and Kaden Beckerink. Massing scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Beckerink scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Massing has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played.
Clymer Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Clymer Central's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-7. As for Ellicottville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Clymer Central will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Brocton at 7:30 p.m. As for Ellicottville, they will head out on the road to challenge Franklinville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
