Willits is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Round Valley on Tuesday. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 27-1 margin over the Mustangs. That looming 27-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolverines yet this season.

Abigail Sherf and Lisa Arkelian made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Sherf pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Arkelian struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Sherf posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. At the plate, Sherf went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI, while Arkelian went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That run marked the first that Arkelian has scored this season.
In other batting news, Jazmarie Henson was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Alexandra Ramos was another key player, going a perfect 6-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Willits always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .755. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Fort Bragg not only won two weeks ago, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2025 (when they won 13-3). They blew past Point Arena 18-12.
The team relied heavily on Autumn Baxman, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hawk, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.
The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Fort Bragg, their record now sits at 1-0.
Willits suffered a grim 18-4 defeat to Fort Bragg when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
