The Ashby Arrows are on the road again on Friday and plays the West Central Area Knights at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th. Ashby will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 330th, while West Central Area is ranked 30th).
Ashby might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 62-48 to Wheaton, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Meanwhile, West Central Area had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They blew past Park Rapids 79-56. West Central Area has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.
Ashby dropped their record down to 9-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for West Central Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Ashby took a serious blow against West Central Area when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 62-30. Can Ashby avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
