After a string of four wins, the Orme Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri City Prep. Orme was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Orme's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Tisi, who scored 14 points. Bartek Kreglewski was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Orme's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Tri City Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Orme will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Verde Valley's defense has only allowed 29.9 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them. Tri City Prep will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on February 1st.
