They came out on top against East Surry by a score of 77-70. Given North Surry's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Cardinals are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Julius Brintle had a dynamite game for North Surry, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brintle has scored all season. Anthony Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
North Surry's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.6 points per game. As for East Surry, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Surry will take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Forbush has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for East Surry, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
