Del Oro will be defending their home turf for the first time on Thursday when they go up against McClatchy at 5:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Del Oro might have drawn first blood against Liberty last Thursday, but it was Liberty who got the last laugh. Del Oro lost to Liberty by a decisive 8-27 margin.
Meanwhile, McClatchy had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-38 to Del Campo. McClatchy were down by 0-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better score. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contest, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
