Hurley is 8-2 against Everton since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hurley Tigers will be staying on the road to face off against the Everton Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Hurley came up short against Verona and fell 58-49.
Meanwhile, sadly, Everton is still looking for their first win of the season after 22 games. They were dealt a 62-29 loss at the hands of McAuley Catholic on Monday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Josh Daniels, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for 17 straight games.
Hurley's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15. Everton's record now sits at 0-22.
Hurley strolled past Everton when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 65-47. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Daniels, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Hurley still be able to contain Daniels? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
