The East River Falcons struggled with offensive rebounds on Monday (the Timber Creek Wolves had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. East River was outmatched by the Wolves at home and fell 56-24. East River has struggled against the Wolves recently, as their match on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yariana Lugo Perez, who scored 13 points along with two steals. That was a full 54.2% of East River's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Bailey Carter was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Leading Timber Creek to victory were Karishma Ortiz and Kareena Ortiz. Ortiz scored 14 points along with two steals, while Ortiz scored 16 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Ortiz scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Perez, who scored five points.
East River has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Timber Creek, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
