The Jacobs Golden Eagles have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Hampshire Whip-Purs at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Jacobs was able to grind out a solid victory over the Chargers, taking the game 64-52.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jacobs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Max Fessler, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Emaan Thomas was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Hampshire can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They slipped by Neuqua Valley 56-55. The win was all the more spectacular given Hampshire's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 35th).
Jacobs' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-14. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Hampshire, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15.
Jacobs came up short against the Whip-Purs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 53-49. Will Jacobs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
