Hampshire can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They slipped by Neuqua Valley 56-55. The win was all the more spectacular given Hampshire's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 35th).
Jacobs' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-14. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Hampshire, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15.
