Softball Recap: Jones Wins Going Away Against Little Village

Jones won the last time they faced Little Village and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Phoenix. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 15 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Anna Black made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Julissa Galvez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucy Paskiewicz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Jones was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .818. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Jones' win bumped their record up to 17-4-1. As for Little Village, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7-1.

Coming up, Jones will venture away from home to square off against Northside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Little Village does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
