Sumner waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Hillsborough Terriers. Considering the Stingrays have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

JAYLIN CHAMBERS and WINSTON PENNANT did most of the damage at the plate: CHAMBERS went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while PENNANT went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. CHAMBERS is becoming a predictor of Sumner's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). CAMERON PACQUETTE also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Sumner's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Hillsborough, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Looking ahead, Sumner will be taking part in a tournament against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hillsborough, they will take on Riverview in a tournament on Wednesday.
