It's playoff time, and Bingham had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Fremont Silverwolves with a sharp 13-3 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Miners, who have now won 12 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Bingham got a great performance from Kendra Hintze as she pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Hintze has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jenna Thomas and Kava Haiola did most of the damage at the plate: Thomas went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Haiola went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Thomas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyann Banasky, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
Bingham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Bingham, bringing their record up to 19-8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Fremont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16.
As of now, neither Bingham nor the Silverwolves have any future games scheduled.
