12 must be Hardin's lucky number: they beat Warren with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Warriors. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Hardin got a massive performance out of Kaitlyn Key, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Emma Smart, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Hardin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hardin's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-14-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Warren, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21.

Hardin and Warren could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings.
