Towanda and Williamson are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Black Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Towanda had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Wellsboro on Thursday. The Black Knights' pitcher stepped up to hand the Hornets a 10-0 shutout. The Black Knights haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
The result came thanks to Aleah Johnson's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tae Lynn Brabant, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Brynsen Vargason was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Williamson hadn't beaten Canton on the road since April 18, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. Williamson blew past Canton 19-2. Williamson's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Olivia Gee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Gee was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Savannah Dean was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Aubree Roe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Williamson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Towanda's record is now 8-4. As for Williamson, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Towanda hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Williamson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Towanda couldn't quite get it done against Williamson in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Black Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
