Beaumont waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 26-20 W against the Cajon Cowboys. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Beaumont found their leader in sophomore Tessa Martinez, who threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of her passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and one TD on only six carries. Francheska Dizon was in the mix too, providing the Cougars with two scores.
One reason for the win was Beaumont's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kiera Houston.
