The McKinley Red Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by South Range on the road and fell 71-36. While losing is never fun, McKinley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 716th, while South Range is ranked 230th).
Several Red Dragons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antuan Gardner, who scored six points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Stef Dorsey, who scored ten points.
McKinley's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for South Range, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Girard the next time they take the court. McKinley will head out to face Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while South Range will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
