Grandview Prep has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will take on the Benjamin Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Grandview Prep beat Park Vista 62-50.
Among those leading the charge was Aeris Lawson, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Marco Jordonne, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Benjamin strolled past Pine with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-43.
Benjamin can attribute much of their success to Jacob Cosby-Mosley, who scored 19 points, and Drew Buchanan, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Hudson Byrne was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Grandview Prep's victory bumped their season record to 2-0 while Park Vista's defeat dropped theirs to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Grandview Prep against Benjamin when the teams last played back in January of 2021 as the team secured a 75-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grandview Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
