Even though the Chickasaw Chieftains have not done well against the Citronelle Wildcats recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Chickasaw came out on top against Citronelle by a score of 52-45. Given Chickasaw's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Citronelle is ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Citronelle's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Justin Adams, who scored 14 points, and Anthony Rivers who scored 8 points. Adams scored a full 31.1% of Citronelle's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Chickasaw's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Citronelle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chickasaw's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mobile Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Citronelle, they will challenge Robertsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Robertsdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
