Nokomis is 5-0 against Lincolnwood since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Nokomis Redskins will jump right back in to play the Lincolnwood Lancers at 12:00 p.m. Hopefully Nokomis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Nokomis beat New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly 49-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for Nokomis.
Nokomis found their leader in underclassman Kinley Stolte, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. Those 19 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Mehochko, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Lincolnwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Carlinville, falling 52-17. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lincolnwood in their matchups with Carlinville: they've now lost five in a row.
Nokomis' victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Lincolnwood, they bumped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Nokomis against Lincolnwood when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 58-19 win. Will Nokomis repeat their success, or does Lincolnwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
