The Greenwood Rangers pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Georgetown, falling 86-59. Greenwood lost against Georgetown in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-49 score last time.
Loss or not, Greenwood got some senior leadership from Tatum Pierce who scored 22 points and Ty Presley who scored 19 points. The match was Pierce's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Madrid, who scored six points.
Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Georgetown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Greenwood and Burnet will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Georgetown will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. Canyon Lake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 904th, while Georgetown is ranked 205th).
