Even though the Bethel Wildcats scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, the Wewoka Tigers still came out on top. Wewoka had just enough and edged Bethel out 63-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wewoka.
Wewoka's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Timber Carter, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carter has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Awtumn Sipes-Louie, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Wewoka's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. As for Bethel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wewoka will square off against Holdenville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Holdenville is ranked 90th, while Wewoka is ranked 69th). Bethel on the road again on Tuesday and play against Jones at 6:15 p.m. on January 30th.
