Basketball Recap: Bloomingdale Falls Despite Big Games from Caleb Mcclung and Aiden Scheidler

Bloomingdale managed to slip by Sugar Creek Christian Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bloomingdale Blazers lost 58-38 to the Sugar Creek Christian Academy Eagles on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blazers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 102nd in West Virginia, while the Eagles are ranked 673rd in Ohio).

Aiden Scheidler and Caleb McClung certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Scheidler posted ten points along with six rebounds and five blocks, while McClung scored 12 points. Scheidler has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played.

Will Salyers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sugar Creek Christian Academy, putting up 28 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Salyers continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Long, who earned 14 points and seven rebounds.

Bloomingdale's record is now 15-8. As for Sugar Creek Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Bloomingdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-46 win against West Logan Christian Academy on the 25th. As for Sugar Creek Christian Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-34 victory against Carter Christian Academy on the 27th.
