Rocky River got a massive performance out of Elleana Biscardi, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Biscardi a new career-high. Maggie Heigle was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Lorain came up short against Bay on Saturday, falling 31-18. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Vada Blankenship stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored four runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-5. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.3 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Jazlyn Miller, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Even though they lost, Lorain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Rocky River's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lorain, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2.
Lorain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rocky River has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Lorain, though, as they've been averaging 10.5 hits. Given Rocky River's sizable advantage in that area, Lorain will need to find a way to close that gap.
Rocky River took their win against Lorain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rocky River since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
