The Centerville Elks will be home for the holidays to greet the Wayne Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Saturday, Centerville faced Springboro in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Centerville falling 53-34. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Wayne's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairmont. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wayne in their matchups with Fairmont: they've now lost six in a row.
Centerville's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Centerville came out on top in a nail-biter against Wayne when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 47-45. Will Centerville repeat their success, or does Wayne have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
