Mitchell is 2-8 against Orleans since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mitchell Bluejackets will be home for the holidays to greet the Orleans Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Mitchell's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Orleans has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Saturday, Mitchell took a serious blow against Brownstown Central, falling 75-36. Mitchell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-11.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Orleans had to settle for a 51-48 loss against New Albany on Friday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ian Hall, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Xavier Alston, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Orleans, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
Mitchell was dealt a bruising 66-34 loss at the hands of Orleans in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mitchell was down 39-18.
