Crete's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the Seward Bluejays get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 5-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Hayley Mattox, who went 2-for-3 while posting 2 stolen bases, 2 runs, and 1 RBI. The team also got some help from Isabelle Oltmans, who went a perfect 3-for-3 while posting 2 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 double.

Crete took advantage of their speed and finished the game with three stolen bases. They have not posted that many stolen bases since the 21st, when they snagged four stolen bases.

Crete has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last 10 contests. That gives them a 5-0 record this season. As for Seward, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crete will play host again on Tuesday to welcome Fairbury, where first pitch is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. As for Seward, they will take on Centennial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
