The Madison-Grant Argylls will face off against the Oak Hill Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Oak Hill will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Madison-Grant extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Argylls blew past Tipton 11-5. Considering the Argylls have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brock Barnhart made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

He has become a key player for Madison-Grant: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luke Gilman, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Madison-Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Oak Hill took on Frankton on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Eagles. With that victory, the Golden Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Like Madison-Grant, Oak Hill also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Thompson. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Thompson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Trenner Boswell was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Ryan Lawson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Madison-Grant's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Oak Hill, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Madison-Grant has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Oak Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Madison-Grant's way against Oak Hill in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Madison-Grant made off with a 7-0 win. Do the Argylls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
