After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Chapel Hill, St. Mary was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by  a  20-2 margin over the Durham Academy Cavaliers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for St. Mary's considering their one-run performance the  game before.
  Addie Bowen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run but no hits. Bowen was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring four  runs and  stealing four bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Molly Lanahan was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with five  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Another player making a difference was  Cassandra Krepp, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 On Durham Academy's side,  Emerson Windram was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all two of her plate appearances.
 St. Mary's  made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-2. As for Durham Academy, they  haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
 St. Mary's will head out on the road to  face off against  GRACE Christian at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. GRACE Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 13.8  runs per game this season. As for Durham Academy, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Cary Academy at 4:00  p.m. Cary Academy will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last.
