This season hasn't been kind to the Oakwood Eagles, who are still winless after their 18th game. They were dealt a 79-30 defeat at the hands of Fayetteville Academy on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Oakwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Eagles are ranked 52nd).
Fayetteville Academy found their leader in underclassman Jossiah Johnson, who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Cooper, who scored 15 points.
Oakwood dropped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fayetteville Academy, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-4.
Oakwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fayetteville Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
