BILOXI, Miss. -
Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, Miss.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 49-14 win over Biloxi (Miss.).
In the first quarter, the Warriors put up 21 points. Oak Grove scored on a
Kirk McCarty touchdown pass to
Cameron Myers, a touchdown run by
Mikal Bilal and a touchdown pass by McCarty to
Jordan Duncan.
After taking the lead on a McCarty touchdown pass to Myers in the first quarter, OG led 42-0 at the half.
McCarty played well for the Hattiesburg school in the victory. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
The defeat comes as a step back for Biloxi, who notched a 35-21 victory over Fort Walton Beach in its previous outing. The loss snapped Biloxi's two-game winning streak. The win brought Oak Grove's winning streak to three games.
Biloxi (2-1) goes up against Moss Point in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Oak Grove (3-0) locks horns with Hattiesburg also in a non-conference game.
