Eastern is 9-1 against North Adams since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Green Devils at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eastern 3.1, North Adams 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Eastern is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Lynchburg-Clay just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to the Mustangs. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Eastern saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddison Simpson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Isabella Spires also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, North Adams waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Lions. That's two games straight that the Green Devils have won by exactly three runs.
Carlee Garrison made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paige Evans, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Chloe Armstrong, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
North Adams' victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Eastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Eastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Adams struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Eastern skirted past North Adams 3-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Green Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
