Springstead is 2-8 against Lecanto since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Springstead Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lecanto Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Springstead focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Springstead took a serious blow against River Ridge, falling 58-30.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Addy Osborne, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lecanto took their contest at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 71-10 victory over Central. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lecanto.
Lecanto found their leader in underclassman Bryleigh Florio, who scored 27 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Ijyana Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 assists.
Springstead's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lecanto, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Springstead was able to grind out a solid win over Lecanto when the teams last played back in January, winning 33-22. Will Springstead repeat their success, or does Lecanto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
