George Wilcox Turns in Season-Best Performance
Leake Academy was led to victory by George Wilcox, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Wilcox's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 315 passing yards dating back to last season. He also passed for 358 passing yards, which is notable because Leake Academy is 3-1 when he posts at least 250 passing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
Wilcox is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against East Rankin Academy on Friday. When Wilcox last faced the Patriots back in October of 2023, he threw for 461 yards and four touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.

On Friday, Leake Academy got the W thanks in part to Matthew Nowell playing the best football he has all season. Nowell picked up 99 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
If the past is any indication, Nowell could be in store for another big game when he takes on East Rankin Academy on Friday. Nowell picked up 183 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Patriots duked it out back in October of 2023.

On Friday, Lamar got the W thanks in part to Jalin Trotter playing the best football he has all season. Trotter picked up 155 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 57 yards.
Lamar now has a winning record of 4-3. Trotter and Lamar will look to defend their home field on Friday against Simpson Academy at 7:00 p.m.
