 Tanner Perry made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. What's more,  he posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had  over his last three  contests. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with four  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Pauls Valley's success: when he posts  at  least three  RBI the team is 2-1 (and 4-24 when he doesn't).
 In other batting news,  Skeeter Jolly was  excellent,  going 1-for-2 with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Ketch Johnson, who  went 2-for-3 with one  triple.
As for Stratford, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record  this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 On Stratford's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Oliver Smithwick, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run and one  double. That  double marked the first that  Smithwick has  hit this season.
 Pauls Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stratford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  9-1  defeat against Allen on the 28th.
