Baseball Recap: Kettering Wins Going Away Against Holly

Kettering was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Holly on Saturday. The Captains blew past the Bronchos 12-3. This was payback for the Captains, who suffered an 11-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

CHASE NANNINI was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, TYLER YUHAS was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. KAIDEN KAPA was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Kettering has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Holly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kettering will face off against Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holly, they will venture away from home to square off against Linden at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
