After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Mary, Mount Everett Regional was happy to have turned things around on Sunday. They never let the Monson Mustangs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Matt Lowe was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Mount Everett Regional is 6-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise. Lowe was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Brady Carpenter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Leonard, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Mount Everett Regional's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. As for Monson, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
As of now, neither Mount Everett Regional nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
