Twin Valley recap November 5, 2013
Centralia/Wetmore extended the longest winning streak in Twin Valley this week by beating Jackson Heights, 36-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Panthers.
Valley Heights took down Oskaloosa 62-26 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cole Maddox ran for 247 yards during the win.
Maddox was a force in the backfield as the Mustangs defeated the Bears.
Maddox provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Valley Heights topped Oskaloosa.
Kyle Edgar made the biggest impact on defense this week as Washington County lost to Plainville. The 5-foot-11 sophomore nabbed 1 interception and recorded 1 fumble.
Zach Ottot was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers lost to the Cardinals. Ottot racked up 7 receptions for 75 yards. Cole Thompson helped Washington County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 11 yards.
Washington County's Konner Penning and Thompson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Penning has thrown for 1,325 yards this season, while Thompson has 38 catches for 559 yards. Michael Bliss from Onaga leads the league in rushing with 1,096 yards.
Sam Steinlage of the Centralia/Wetmore is only 21 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 90 carries Steinlage has put up 979 yards this year.
Larry Glatzak's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,893 from 3,254. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 36-0 victory over the Cobras last week.
